A Trip to Ginatilan with my Family
I went to a road trip together with my family to
the southern part of Cebu which is Ginatilan. We went to the heritage site
there, the St. Gregory the Great Parish. It was quite a view because of its
baroque architecture. Its uniqueness was built on February 2, 1829. A quick
overview of its history is that Saint
Gregory the Great (San Gregorio Magno), was known as one of only two Popes in history,
aside from Saint Leo the Great, who was given the title “the Great.” He also
introduced the “Gregorian Chants” in the liturgy
So, I took a picture of the church’s façade, not
to mention, the church’s door was huge and the environment was so clean, too
bad I did not get the chance to go inside for a sneak peak of its uniqueness.
By
the time we went there, the place was celebrating its feast.
I
also went to its Millennium Park where this not-so-huge “I Love Ginatilan” sign
is found. It was so nice to be there. You can smell the sea breeze clinging to
your body, it’s so relaxing!
If
you want to go visit the place, you’ll only need P 164.00 budget for the
transportation expenses. If you’re from Cebu, you’ll need P 7.00 for the
jeepney (02B) fare going to South Bus Terminal. We usually ride Cere Bus Liners
to go to places. It will only cost you P 157.00 but if you’re a student, it
will only cost you P135.00 but of course you have to bring your I.D for
validation purposes or not. Just tell the bus operator to stop at Joel’s store
then you’ll arrive at your destination.
